Jared Trivia.

  • Favorite Food

Depends on my mood and I’ll try just about anything. I’ve eaten guinea pig in Peru, Kangaroo in Australia, and a McRib in America. But the true pathway to my heart is a perfectly seared ribeye steak. If the fat melts in my mouth, we’ll be best friends. Sushi is also a viable route to my heart.

  • What's your favorite planet?

Saturn. The rings will take your breath away when you see them through a telescope. I’d say Earth since I live here but I haven’t seen it through a telescope.

    … So you get Saturn.

  • How much do you like coffee?

Scientists have yet to discover the limit to my love of coffee.

  • What is your favorite movie?

Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings Trilogy by far. I also have a deep abiding love for Star Wars. The Fugitive with Harrison Ford is also a major winner. Interstellar is perfect because it combines a bunch of m,y favorite things - Nolan, Space, Sci-Fi - what’s not to love?

  • Is it true that you'll melt if you shave your beard?

This is false. However, I will devolve into a chubby-faced 11 year old.

  • Favorite animal?

Elephants of course. What do you think I would pick? The Blue Footed Booby? Get serious.

  • Favorite book?

    Don’t you mean “Books” plural?

One of my bad habits is buying books. Sarah has helped me to recover from my book-buying addiction and I’m happy to say I’ve been sober for several years now.

    Some of my favorites are:
    Grit by Angela Duckworth
    Atomic Habits by James Clear
Building a Story Brand by Donald Miller
    Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
The Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan
The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
    Desiring God by John Piper
The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs
    Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxas
    Animal Farm by George Orwell
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card
    Dune by Frank Herbert
Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
Adorning the Dark by Andrew Peterson
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
I Love You Forever by Robert Munsch

  • Dream destination?

Iceland for sure! The second runner-up would be Antarctica (how cool would that be??). The history buff inside me wants to tour World War battlefields in Europe. The nerd in me wants to visit Hobbiton in New Zealand. The little kid in me wants to get a milkshake at Beaches & Cream in Disney World.

  • Favorite Trip?

That’s easy. My trip with Sarah to Arizona in 2017. We visited Sedona, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, and Page. Notable sights were the red rocks, Barringer meteor crater, Grand Canyon (of course), Sunset Crater, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Petrified Forest NP, and a random ostrich we saw in someone’s front yard in Albuquerque.
